the sun for fun...
after many many days of cold snow and rains... the guys were very happy to see the sun emerge... we made the most of it by travelling all around manali that day and even going to the hot springs at Mani Karan... we passed kasol on the way, which was another gorgeous place to stay and was littered with foreigners and tourists...more on Kasol coming up soon !

Monks
the temple...
at Kamapa Monastery... was so serene and beautiful inside.. it was mid afternoon when we reached there and the morning session of prayers was over... the monks had retired into their rooms and evry chanting ceaselessly... and the Buddha was left to himself... and us :)
dhamam sharanam gachaami...
this was the simple and beautiful door to he temple at the Kamapa Monastery near Dharamshala... the gorgeous warm Buddhist colors - red, yellow, green, blue and pure white - made for increadible and eye catching sights all over Dharamshala, especially in places that had spiritual connections... whether it were temple doors or mani stones on streets...

Prayer in every walk of life
the sweet and simple buddhist folks in Dharamshala have made religion a part of their everyday life... whether it is the carved Mani stones that one can spot on the road or Buddisht charms in markets or even gentle Buddhists going about their daily work, stll a prayer wheel in their hands and a rosary in the other... most beautiful feeling being there with them :)

Buddhist Volunteer MANALI
A volunteer was sewing on Buddhist mantras to a rope which is then hung all around Manali and many other towns and cities near Dharamshala... The buddhist believe that these mantras of the Buddha bring blessings and good vibes to all who read or even view these mantras...
OM MANI PADME HUM
stone carvings of the Buddhist mantra all along the temple road in Dharamshala... the buddhists believe that not just by chanting but also by simply seeing this mantra written one is blessed... all of the buddhas blessings are supposed to be concised into this one mantra...
